What leaves the storefront

Everything the app shows. Because nothing was written into your theme files, uninstalling removes the app embed and any app blocks with it, and there is no code to hunt down in your theme afterwards.

Billing and data

Uninstalling ends the app subscription, so no new charge is created. After an uninstall, Shopify sends the app a shop redaction request, and that deletes all of your store data: timers, counts, image records, and subscription records. Background images you uploaded stay in your own Shopify Files, because they were always yours.

If you install again later, the app reads your plan from Shopify, so you start on Free unless you subscribe again. The 7 day trial only applies to the first paid subscription a store takes.

Email timers already sent

Email timer images are served by the app. After an uninstall, expect those images to stop working in emails you have already sent, including automated flows. Take the snippet out of any running flow or campaign before you uninstall.

Uninstalling, in four steps.

In order. Each step assumes the one before it is finished, so skipping one is how the last step fails for a reason that looks unrelated.

  1. Step one

    Check your email flows

Remove email timer snippets from automated flows and scheduled campaigns.

  2. Step two

    Uninstall from Shopify

Settings, Apps and sales channels, TreStack Timer, Uninstall.

  3. Step three

    Check the storefront

Load a product page and the cart. No timer, and nothing left behind in the theme.

  4. Step four

Tidy your Files if you like

Uploaded background images are in your Shopify Files. Delete them there if you no longer want them.

If this does not work

The failures most likely on this procedure, with the check that resolves each one. If none of them fit, we would rather have the store URL than a guess.

Send us the store URL
A timer still shows after uninstalling

Reload the page in a private window to rule out your own browser cache, and clear any page cache app in front of your storefront. If it is still there, send us the store URL.

Emails already sent show a broken image

That is the email timer image, which the app no longer serves. It cannot be restored for emails already delivered, which is why the first step is to check your flows.
